Practical tools for navigating conflict
Field-tested frameworks built from real mediation practice — not theory. Each playbook walks you through structured, De Bono-based thinking for the conflicts that show up at work and at home.
Six Thinking Hats method
Playbooks
Two editions, one method — choose the room you're walking into
Conflict is inevitable. How you approach it is what’s empowering.
Grounded in real mediation practice, not borrowed theory
Trauma-informed by design
Every scenario is written to de-escalate first, structure the thinking second — built for real conversations, not hypotheticals.
Built on formal training
Developed from graduate study in Conflict Analysis & resolution and Applied Creative Thinking, alongside hands-on mediation, conflict-coaching and restorative practice experience in New York State Community Dispute Resolution Centers
Facilitative, not prescriptive
These playbooks guide the thinking — they don’t hand down verdicts. That’s the same approach used in the mediation room, translated to the page.
WHAT’S INSIDE
A few things people ask first
What format do the playbooks come in?
Both editions are delivered as a digital, printable PDF. You can work through them on screen or print individual scenarios as worksheets.
What does a scenario actually look like?
2
Each scenario walks through a real conflict situation using all six thinking hats in sequence — facts, feelings, caution, benefits, possibilities, and process — with prompts to apply it to your own situation.
Which edition is right for me?
3
The Workplace Edition is built for managers, HR professionals, and teams. The Family Conflict Edition is built for parents, co-parents, and family situations. Readers can use both.
Is this a substitute for mediation?
4
No — these are self-guided tools for working through conflict on your own. If you need a neutral third party, we also offer direct mediation services along with interpersonal conflict coaching.
